What is DUPR?

DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) is a system which gives every player a rating between 2.0 and 8.0, a number that is reflective of their skill level. The rating updates automatically as match results are recorded. It’s the same system being used around the world by clubs, tournaments, and leagues, and we believe it’s the best way to measure your progress. Why should I get a DUPR?

  • It helps to match you with players of a similar skill level, making games more competitive.

  • It allows us to create fairer, more balanced sessions at our club.

  • You can track your improvement over time.

  • It connects you with the wider pickleball community across Australia.

Am I ready for DUPR?

Yes — as long as you’ve played enough pickleball to feel comfortable with the basics. DUPR is designed for every level of player, but it works best once you:

  • Understand the rules and scoring,

  • Can rally consistently, and

  • Have built confidence through playing several sessions.

You don’t need to be a tournament player or “advanced” — DUPR is for all of us. Once you’re confident in game play, it’s a great way to track your improvement and match up with players at a similar level.

Which DUPR Session is for me?

We currently offer two types of DUPR sessions in our schedule:

DUPR 3.0+ is for players who have an established DUPR with a reliability rating of 100% of 3.0 and over.

DUPR up to 3.25/New to DUPR is for players who

  • have a DUPR below 3.25, or

  • are new to DUPR, or

  • have a DUPR with a less than 80% reliability score.

I’m new to DUPR, how do I join?

  1. Create a free profile with DUPR.
    Download the app here.

  2. Join our DUPR Club.
    Once you have created your profile, join the Ulladulla Pickleball DUPR Club here.

  3. Link your DUPR to your Pickleheads Account.
    In Pickleheads, under your profile, select the field to link your DUPR ID.

  4. Join a Session
    Players new to DUPR should join the Up to 3.25/New to DUPR sessions.

  5. Get Competitive!
